Sports Shoes Driving Legend Honored

UPDATE: A native of Long Beach, California, Jason Leffler pursued his dream of racing in Winston Cup. After signing a four-year contract with Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates, Leffler took over the driving duties of the No. 01 Dodge Intrepid for the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. In 2013 the NASCAR community was left stunned by the news that driver Jason Leffler had been killed in an accident during a sprint-car race in New Jersey.

A three time USAC Midget champion, Leffler
spent just one year in the Busch Series competing in 31 events.
Jason ran the No. 18 car for Joe Gibbs Racing earning to top
five finishes, four top ten finishes and three poles. He said he
chose to leave Gibbs Racing to pursue his dream of running
Winston Cup. “My goal has always been to race Winston Cup,
Leffler says, and now I will be able to pursue that dream.”

We will always remember you, Jason.

(From Jason circa 2012) I want to take this opportunity to
welcome you to my site. In this, my rookie season on the
NASCAR Winston Cup circuit, you will find a many different
features on the site.

We will continually update the stats
and I will write a weekly column about how we are
progressing. In the future, you will have the opportunity to
submit questions which I will be happy to answer.

It’s been
a learning year so far for us, and the Cingular Dodge team
and I continue to progress each week.

Check here often to
read about our progress.
Thanks again for stopping by. I
hope to see you here often!
– Jason
